Kanaha

Kanaha is on the North Shore of Maui and offers perhaps the best all-around windsurfing spot on the island. The beach is wide and there is smooth water inside the reef. On the outside there is a variety of waves. The most consistent peak is at "Lowers" at the left end of the beach. The middle is a mesh of strong currents and waves coming in at all different angles. No wonder it is called the "Bermuda Triangle". You can't usually find any local sailors there. The right end of Kanaha is best suited for slalom and this is where the annual Kanaha Slalom series is held. So if you are nearby in the summer you might want to go and watch some of the worlds best amateur windsurfers compete on the slalom course.
